Palm Island Guide
Palm Island: An Exclusive Island Escape Guide
Palm Island, a private island resort in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, offers an exclusive and luxurious escape for discerning travelers. This secluded paradise boasts pristine white-sand beaches, swaying palm trees, and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The island is dedicated to providing a tranquil and unforgettable experience, with a focus on relaxation, water sports, and exceptional service. Palm Island was once known as Prune Island, a swampy, mosquito-infested area. In the 1960s, John Caldwell, also known as "Johnny Coconut," leased the island and transformed it into the lush, tropical paradise it is today. He planted hundreds of coconut palms, giving the island its current name. The resort was later developed, maintaining a commitment to preserving the island's natural beauty. Activities on Palm Island are centered around enjoying the natural surroundings. Guests can relax on the beach, swim in the ocean, or try various water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing, and kayaking. The resort offers guided snorkeling and diving trips to nearby reefs. There are also hiking trails that wind through the island, offering stunning views. The resort's restaurants offer a range of culinary delights, with a focus on fresh seafood and Caribbean flavors. Enjoying a cocktail while watching the sunset is a must-do experience.
Transportation
Palm Island is accessible only by boat. Guests typically arrive via Union Island Airport (UNI) and then take a short boat transfer to the island. The resort arranges these transfers for its guests.
